With loads of recent crime activity … i can no longer tell my Kuwaiti and Foreign Friends to Visit Goa. It used to be my pride to go out and tell people “You should visit Goa, in this time and that time”, ” and goans are fun, and full of excitement” ….
Now i repent on these words. With the recent rape cases, molestations of Tourists and foreigners and Goans being beaten up very badly if they fight the crime. I should say …. Goa is expect the above “drought” at the very soonest. They say , you shouldnt judge something , by just few rotten apples. But the way the government is handling the situation, and not protecting its citizens and its visitors , i should say …. This is the worst a government … could stooop down too…

Work has been crazy for the last 6 months. I feel im in a battle arena, sorting out problems, getting things fixed. Whats Worse! is that there is no support from suppliers. Me and my colleagues have been fighting things out. Suppliers just provide their stuff and give no support at all.
Another worse thing is … Friends who verbally say, they support you. Stab you really badly, specially in time of need. I got this new one liners coming from many people at the last minute, “its not my job”. My Question is … “if its not your job, whose job is it?”. I never ask for favours, even from friends, i expect everyone to do their job. so that the cycle is completed.
But end of the today’s clients, dont care, whose job it is … they expect you to do everything and close the matter. I need to rework my strategies … 2009 is going to be WHOLE NEW ME! a WHOLE NEW ARMY! and a WHOLE NEW SET of RULES.

The New Numbering plan in Kuwait , seems to be in a mess. Looks like MOC migration is having problems… I have tried calling a couple of landline numbers both in the old way and with 2 prefix …. for both i get …. “pls put the 2 before the number”. I hope they sort it out before sunday … or a great number of companies will suffer!!! . i guess the food industry might have been hit!
Over the Weekend i had to fix a client’s web problem as it seemed to be Hacked. Little did i realise that the Browser based thing i was handle , was pumping viruses into my Laptop. Somehow my Symantec Corporate Ed. Didnt notice it. The next thing i realised is …
- My Laptop is dead slow
- I cant send any email
- My FTP connections are stuck
So i ran an online check at www.eset.com . it caught some immediate trojans… while my Symantec AV .. just stood at the corner. So friday i spent trying to see if i could clean up the laptop. My Laptop is my main core of work, business, communication with my companies in Goa, and my clients around the world. So causing a downtime on it , would bring me down totally ! … So i wasted loads of valuable time to fix it. ….
Saturday… Symantec woke up and started catching viruses like Bloodhound etc … Then i had realised , somehow the previous trojan opened a backdoor, to let in more viruses. So i tried to uninstall Symantec… but XP wouldnt allow me. So i had to face it….. i had to do the inevitable…. FORMAT THE WHOLE THING!!!
Now formating means, rebacking it up, reinstalling , restoring ,, and so on!!! … i got like loads of stuff, Documents, clients data, personal stuff, emails dated 1995 …. and so on!!! so i started the whole thing on saturday afternoon and its almost up now …. basically a 2 day downtime with no work …! sad…!!!!
The only good thing i got out of this is, i managed to upgrade the laptop hard drive to 250 GB … from 160…! and also i changed my AV to Eset NOD32 business.
Now that Ramadan is over, i got this huge pile up of work to be completed. During ramadan , everything slowed down and these last 5 days off, kept majority of work and tasks pending. Getting back everyone to the grind is going to be tough. a deadline is a deadline , some how all the holidays, lesser work hours etc should not affect it.
This week is going to utmost crazy, loads of meetings and arrangements . i may not post this week. Will see!
